Innis Arden Golf Club
Old Greenwich, CT

The Innis Golf Club began construction of their Turf Care Center in September of 2010 and the facility was operational in May of 2011. GSA provided superintendent Neil Laufenberg with Design Services and monitoring of the project during construction.

The Turf Care Maintenance Facility is a steel framed, metal roofed and sided structure with a 3'-4” high decorative masonry base. In addition to ample equipment storage provided through floor space and wall storage systems, the building was designed for peak efficiency entailing ample work space, employee accommodations, safety and work flow. Green Technology is used throughout the facility incorporating elements such as radiant heated floors in the equipment maintenance area, compact fluorescent lighting and waterless urinals. Energy efficiency is obtained thru the use of high efficiency windows, lighting motion sensors and insulation exceeding energy code requirements.

The Fuel & Wash Down Area  is designed by GSA to hold a fuel tank system providing triple protection against spills: the fuel tanks with additional containment layers built into the tanks and a fueling area designed to contain 110% of maximum tank capacity.  Waste water from wash down operations and any fuel spills are contained, treated and recycled through a Carbtrol Treatment System. Zero discharge! 

The Environmental Management Center is designed to keep all chemicals, fertilizers and spraying equipment in one area. Any accidental chemical or fertilizer spills can be either recovered, treated and recycled thru the Carbtrol system or pumped into a storage tank for use at a later time.  Again... Zero discharge!  The mix & load area also features overhead sprayer fill lines and a chemical pre-mix system.

The state-of-the-art Bulk Material Storage Building has three containment bays which are completely enclosed providing contents with complete protection from the environment.
